Jordan Thierry

About the Director

Jordan Thierry is the Director, Producer, and Editor of GRANDMA’S ROSES.  In 2013 he founded Dream Chase Media LLC, a multimedia production company that uses culture, creativity and community as inspirations for compelling storytelling. His first feature film, THE BLACK FATHERHOOD PROJECT received wide acclaim from communities across the nation for its breakdown on the history of the Black family. In 2015 he worked under Frontline Solutions to co-produce THE UNDER CONSTRUCTION PROJECT for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. His first film, FOOTPRINTS IN THE STRUGGLE premiered on Oregon Public Broadcasting and was nominated for a regional Emmy award.

He has worked for over 15 years as a racial justice advocate in public policy, philanthropy, and education organizations across the U.S. and uses this lens to tell stories that complement social movements.

Jordan is a graduate of University of Oregon (B.A.) and Howard University (M.A.), and hopes to teach at the college level one day. He is a proud board member of the Los Angeles Black Worker Center, the author of A KIDS BOOK ABOUT SYSTEMIC RACISM (an Oprah Favorite for 2020), and a 2020 Open Signal Labs Film Fellow.
